The Crusta
Legand has it this amber colored beauty was invented in New Orleans at an unrefined-sounding place called Santini's Saloon, in the mid nineteenth century. But who knows for sure about any story handed down over the decades, especially if this beverage had been enjoyed while the story unfolded. The cognac gives it a mellowness and the bourbon more of an edge. In a pinch you can use maraschino cherry juice instead of the liqueur, but you'll get a much sweeter drink.
